The Whitney model in Waxahachie is simple, modern, and open. It has a split floor plan that keeps your family’s personal spaces away from the main area and makes day-to-day life easier.

Open floor plans feel very bright and spacious, and that’s exactly what you get with the Whitney. Standing at the front entrance, you can see the family room, dining area, and kitchen, with windows covering nearly all of the wall space. A slightly raised ceiling in the family room helps make it feel like its own space without closing it off to the rest of the area.

The original layout for the kitchen features a counter with an eating bar looking out over the family room, an island in the center, and a walk-in pantry. The utility room is conveniently placed next to the kitchen for easy housekeeping during the day, and the well-lit dining area is at the back of the home. This is the simplest and most open design for this section of the Whitney.

A different layout for this area puts a formal dining room at the front of the home with a second entrance into the foyer. This changes the style of the kitchen, and makes the utility room much smaller. If you like to invite friends and family over and want a more intimate space to share meals, you’ll like this change.

For those beautiful days when you just can’t stay inside, an optional extended covered porch at the rear gives you a great place to enjoy the fresh air. 

The windows in the family room and dining area look out over this porch, making it feel like an extension of the same space. There’s plenty of room for chairs and tables, whether you’re throwing a graduation party or just relaxing with some friends.

Back in the house, you’ll find all of the bedrooms on the left side. A door at the back of the family room leads into the master suite. Having your own space is important when you’re sharing a bedroom, so the Whitney has two walk-in closets and two vanities. There’s also an enclosed toilet for privacy, and a large walk-in shower. If you’re happy to share closet space, another layout for the bathroom combines the walk-in closets and adds a luxurious soaking tub.

At the front of the family room, a hallway branches off into the other living quarters. Here, you’ll find two bedrooms with walk-in closets, a shared bathroom, and a hallway closet. Have three kids, or want a spare room for guests? We’ll make space for an extra bedroom by moving the bathroom and slightly rearranging the master suite.

Some other options for the Whitney include a powder room off the foyer for guests and an elegant fireplace as the centerpiece for the family room.
