Room to Grow: The Edge Family's Fayette County Story
Some homes start with a floor plan. The Edge family's home started with a sign. Every time they drove out to their land in Fayette County, Texas, they passed a Tilson Homes sign along the way. So when it came time to build, Tilson was the first place they looked.
They talked with a few other builders, too. But one program helped them see how much more home they could build. A Builder They Saw Every Day
Before the Edges ever sat down with a builder, they were already getting to know Tilson. The sign was part of their regular drive out to the property. It made Tilson the natural first call.
They did their homework and spoke with other builders. In the end, it was the way Tilson could help with their budget that set it apart.

The Day the Dirt Work Began
Life does not always follow the schedule. The Edges' house in Houston sold much faster than they expected. Their plan had been to stay with family for the last couple of months of the build. Instead, they were living with their parents for several months before construction even started.
So the first day of dirt work meant a lot. "Seeing it finally get started was exciting," they said. "A relief. Just a bunch of good emotions at once."
Their son was excited, too. He told their builder, "Don't leave. Build our house." He was sure the whole home would be finished the same day the crew arrived.
Picturing Life Under the Vault
Watching the home come to life was the fun part. The family started picturing where the kids would play and how each room would feel once they moved in.
For the Edges, one room got all the attention. "We're big Christmas people," they explained. The vaulted ceiling turned out to be even taller than they expected. "When we saw it, we were like, wow, that's crazy." One of their very first questions was simple. What size Christmas tree are we going to buy?

Since closing, the Edges have loved being in their new home. "I have no regrets," they said. "The process was so easy." Their kids are happy, and life in Fayette County has been great.
They also appreciated the people who helped along the way. "I really liked our builder and our saleslady," they shared. "It was so easy through every single step. So I would definitely recommend them."
