Waller County
Named after the first mayor of Austin, Edwin Waller, the 51,307 residents of Waller County are proud to call it their home. The Brazos River makes up its western border, and Houston is less than an hour to the east. Dewberry Farm is where locals gather for delicious street food, an eight-acre cornfield maze, a heap of pumpkins, and acres and acres of fun. The annual Waller County Fair draws families every year for good old American fun, with midway rides and local country music. History nuts can visit the Liendo Plantation for Civil War Weekend, and watch a recreation of the war by local historians.
