Some homes make you feel welcome before you ever step inside. The Clarete family’s Arlington B home does exactly that, starting with a peaceful green exterior, a wide front porch, and a setting that feels right at home on their land.
During their home tour with Ashley, Karen and Isolde shared how each room in their Arlington B home tells part of their story. From the bright kitchen and cathedral-ceiling family room to a special Starbucks cup collection room, this home is full of thoughtful choices that support everyday life, celebrate family memories, and reflect the homeowners’ personalities.
A Welcoming Exterior That Blends With the Land
The first thing Ashley noticed was the home’s beautiful front porch and soft green exterior. The Clarete family chose two green tones, Artichoke (SW7169) and Oak Moss (SW6180), to help the home blend naturally with the surrounding landscape.
The result feels calm, grounded, and inviting. The colors sit comfortably against the greenery around the home, creating a look that feels connected to the land rather than separate from it.
The front porch adds to that warm first impression. It gives the home a classic, welcoming feel and sets the tone for everything inside: comfortable, personal, and built for real life.
A Bright Kitchen Designed for Daily Living
The kitchen quickly became one of the tour's highlights. It is bright, open, and filled with smart details that make daily routines easier.
One of Karen’s favorite features is the sink placed at the window. It gives her a beautiful view while washing dishes, and she can also watch animals outside. It is a simple design choice, but it brings joy into an everyday task.
Kitchen Storage That Works Hard Behind the Scenes
This kitchen also features plenty of custom storage options. Each of these features may seem small on its own, but together they make the kitchen feel more organized and easier to use. Everything has a place, and the countertops can stay open and uncluttered. During their home tour, Karen pointed out several favorites, including:
- Pull-out spice rack for easy access while cooking

- Pull out the utensil rack to save space on the counter or in drawers

- A lazy Susan corner cabinet to make use of hard-to-reach space

- A built-in paper towel drawer so the island stays clear

A Family Room Built Around Comfort and Views
When you enter the family room, the cathedral ceiling immediately stands out. This room feels open and comfortable, with a strong focal point and plenty of natural light.
Karen and Isolde chose to orient the room toward the television and fireplace wall. That decision allowed them to take the fireplace tile all the way up to the ceiling, creating a dramatic and beautiful feature.
The fireplace uses the same tile seen in the kitchen backsplash, helping the main living spaces feel connected. In the family room, the tile has a dry-stacked look, with no grout, giving it a clean, textured finish.
A Peaceful Primary Suite With Rear Views
The primary bedroom sits at the back of the home, giving the Clarete family the scenic views they love. Like the kitchen and family room, this room feels connected to the outdoors.
They did not change the size of the primary bedroom, but they did choose wood flooring instead of carpet. For them, that choice made the room easier to clean while also adding warmth and beauty. The space feels calm, open, and comfortable. It is a true retreat at the end of the day.
A Primary Bathroom With Practical Luxury
The primary bathroom continues the home’s balance of beauty and function. The walk-in shower stayed true to the original plan, but Karen and Isolde chose to take the tile all the way to the ceiling. That one choice gives the shower a more complete, finished look. It also helps the bathroom feel taller and more refined.
Additionally, instead of two sinks, the homeowners chose one sink and a vanity area. They explained that in their previous home, two sinks felt like wasted space since it was just the two of them. The vanity gives Karen a dedicated place for skincare and getting ready.
Secondary Bedrooms With Scenic Views
The secondary bedrooms continue the home’s focus on natural light and outdoor views. In both rooms, Karen and Isolde pointed out the windows as a favorite feature.
They love being able to see outside during the day and at night. With animals and open views around them, the bedrooms feel peaceful and connected to the property.
The same flooring continues into these rooms, giving the home a consistent, clean look.
The Starbucks Cup Room: Karen’s Happy Place
Every dream home needs a space that reflects the people who live there. For Karen, that space is her Starbucks cup room. She shared that she collects Starbucks cups from the places Karen and Isolde Clarete travel. Each cup reminds her of a trip, a destination, and a memory. Her collection includes cups from places like Prague and Germany, among others. The room is bright, personal, and full of personality. Karen called it her “happy place,” and that description fits perfectly. It is not just a storage room. It is a joyful display of her travels, interests, and memories.
A Back Patio and Garden Made for Enjoying the Land
The back patio and garden are another important part of the home. The Clarete family shared that when family visits, they often want to spend time outside on the patio.
It is easy to understand why. The patio gives them a place to relax, enjoy the garden, and take in the view. It extends the home outdoors and creates another gathering place for family and friends.
An Easy, Supportive Building Experience
As the tour came to a close, the Karen and Isolde Clarete family shared heartfelt thanks for the Tilson team members who helped bring their home to life. They mentioned how smooth and supportive the process felt, from early steps like the stakeout and foundation to the final details. They described the experience as easy and said they felt well cared for throughout the journey.
That support means a great deal when building a home. A dream home is not just about the finished product. It is also about the confidence families feel along the way.
