Crafted for Generations: Building the Alberto Family’s Custom Angelina
Building a home on your own land is a unique and exciting journey. It means turning a piece of Texas into a personal retreat and a place for family roots to grow. For the Alberto family in Kaufman County, creating their Angelina B home was a thoughtful process. They made careful design choices to build a lasting family legacy.
Adding to the excitement, the Alberto family kept the special project a secret from their son, planning a surprise reveal on ribbon-cutting day. We were honored to guide them every step of the way.
Setting the Stage: Pre-Construction
The process started with a pre-construction meeting on the family’s land. The property was walked together, every detail considered, and the home’s placement carefully mapped to take full advantage of the landscape. Every choice, from direction to placement, ensured a perfect fit for the property.
From Plans to Progress: The Slab Pour
Pouring the slab was a significant milestone. It was the moment the family's vision started to become a reality. As the concrete set, it formed the strong base for their new story.
Rising High: Framing the Dream
As the framing went up, the unique shape of the Angelina started to appear against the Texas landscape. The split floor plan became clear, with a private owner's retreat on one side and the other bedrooms set apart on the other end of the home.
At this stage, the family wrote messages of love and blessings on the studs, putting their hopes and best wishes directly into the home itself.
Taking Shape: Drywall and Interior Progress
After the drywall went up, the open frame turned into real living spaces, each with its own feel. Cabinets, fixtures, and finishes came next, slowly making the house feel ready for daily life.
Beauty in the Details: Custom Finishes
Step by step, the Alberto home became what the family had pictured. Now, their home is finished and shows their style and purpose in every corner.
- Family Room: The living area blends classic style with modern comfort. High cathedral ceilings make the space feel open and bright. Large windows display the views and let in ample natural light, while the rear porch extends the cathedral ceiling outdoors. A stone electric fireplace stands out in the room, complementing the exterior brick and bringing the design together.
- Kitchen: The large island provides an excellent area for meals, conversations, and celebrations. A herringbone backsplash adds texture and a touch of elegance. The design is both stylish and practical.
- Master Bathroom: The master bathroom is a serene retreat, featuring a spacious walk-in shower with a dark pebble mosaic tile and gray cabinets, which provide a soft contrast. Together, these elements create a balanced and refined look for daily routines.
A Welcoming Facade: Exterior Choices
The home's exterior stands out at first glance, with Ashwood brick creating a timeless base, complemented by the soft gray tones of "Morning Fog" siding. Dark chestnut-stained wood columns add contrast and make the entrance feel even more welcoming.
Home Sweet Home: A Dream Fulfilled
The final walk-through was the result of months of planning, decisions, and hard work. For the Alberto family, seeing everything finished was an emotional and unforgettable experience, especially when they surprised their son at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Watching him enter his new home for the first time was a moment full of excitement and happiness.
