A Stunning Custom Tampico Home in Van Zandt County
Today, we’re excited to take you on a tour of a beautifully customized
Tampico home in
Van Zandt County, Texas. Jason and his family have poured their hearts into creating a space that’s not only functional but also full of charm and personality. From thoughtful design choices to unique customizations, this home is a true reflection of their vision. Let’s dive into the details and explore what makes this house so special!
A Unique Exterior with Farmhouse Charm
Jason’s Tampico home is anything but ordinary. While the family started with the Tampico D floor plan, they made some incredible changes to the exterior to give it a unique farmhouse feel. They also added an additional gable and extended the front porch. Cedar-wrapped beams replaced the standard posts, and corbels were added along the gable for a rustic touch. To top it off, the family chose a gorgeous green exterior and swapped out the traditional brick for stone, giving the home a warm inviting look. The result? A home that stands out beautifully while blending seamlessly with its natural surroundings.
A Kitchen Designed for Function and Style
The kitchen is often the heart of the home, and the family made sure theirs was both functional and stunning. They added a silverware drawer for convenience and wrapped the outer portion of the peninsula in stone, extending its surface by nearly 16 inches. This added space allowed for a cohesive look through the home.
Other thoughtful additions included a built-in trash drawer in the island and an alternate utility layout, which allowed for a much larger pantry. The bright, airy kitchen is a perfect blend of practicality and style, with a backsplash, countertops, and cabinets that harmonize beautifully to create a welcoming space.
A Living Room Full of Warmth and Character
The family room is a showstopper, with design inspiration taken straight from a Tilson office they visited during the planning process. Jason and his family replicated the cedar-wrapped beams, crown molding, and fan from the
Waxahachie office’s lobby, adding warmth and character to their living space.
The fireplace, wrapped in the same Texas Mix stone used on the exterior and kitchen peninsula, serves as a grand focal point. Combined with the natural wood elements and cozy furniture, the living room is a perfect space for family gatherings and relaxation.
A Master Suite Built for Comfort
The master suite is a serene retreat, filled with natural light and plenty of space for large furniture. With a king-size bed, a crib, and a rocker, there’s still plenty of room to move around. The master bath features a custom shower in place of the standard tub, creating a sleek, spacious look. A pocket door was added to maximize space and eliminate the need for a swing door, making the bathroom both functional and elegant.
Secondary Bedrooms and Office Space
The home's split floor plan places the secondary bedrooms on the opposite side of the house, offering privacy while keeping everything conveniently close. One bedroom is currently used as a playroom for the family's little ones, while the other serves as a guest room. Both rooms are bright, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. The office is another standout feature, offering a quiet, well-lit space with views of the surrounding countryside. With plenty of room for a desk, storage, and even a closet, it's a practical and peaceful spot to work or study.
A Back Porch Made for Relaxation
One of the most impressive features of this home is the large back porch. The family screened in about two-thirds of the space, creating a bug-free zone perfect for enjoying the outdoors. Whether it's sipping coffee in the morning, watching the birds, or spending time with their dogs, this porch is a true extension of their living space.
A Home Filled with Joy
Jason and his family have created a home that's not only beautiful but also perfectly suited to their lifestyle. From the customizations in the kitchen to the thoughtful design of the living spaces, every detail reflects their vision and personality.
This Tampico home is more than just a house. It’s a place where memories will be made and cherished. It's a space filled with warmth, joy, and the promise of many happy years to come.
